World Environment Day is observed every year on 5 June to take a pledge to protect the environment. The aim of celebrating World Environment Day around the world is to create awareness about the environment among the people.

The first environmental conference was held in Sweden in 1972, in which 119 countries participated. In order to keep the importance of this day, people in India have also gone ahead and participated.

The 195th Battalion deployed in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh set an example by providing rainwater harvesting and potable water for the people of Naxal violence affected area. The force has decided to purchase Bharat Standard-6 emission standard vehicles.
