World Environment Day 2020: PM said- better planets will be left for tomorrow

World Environment Day is observed every year on 5 June to take a pledge to protect the environment. The aim of celebrating World Environment Day around the world is to create awareness about the environment among the people.

World Environment Day began in 1972 in Sweden’s capital Stockholm by the United Nations. The first World Environment Day was observed on 5 June 1974.

The first environmental conference was held in Sweden in 1972, in which 119 countries participated. In order to keep the importance of this day, people in India have also gone ahead and participated.

The 195th Battalion deployed in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh set an example by providing rainwater harvesting and potable water for the people of Naxal violence affected area. The force has decided to purchase Bharat Standard-6 emission standard vehicles.
