West Bengal: 72 people died due to cyclone Amfan, Mamta Banerjee announced compensation


The state government has announced compensation for the families of those killed in the cyclone Amfan in West Bengal.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has said that the families of those killed in the cyclone will be given a compensation of Rs 2 lakh as compensation. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that 72 people have died in the state due to cyclone Amfan.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has also requested PM Narendra Modi to come to West Bengal and tour the cyclone-affected area.

There is power failure in large parts of Kolkata and other affected districts as electric poles were uprooted. Mobile and Internet services are also closed due to damage to many communication towers by the storm.
