Who is Vikas Dubey, and How He Became An Infamous Gangster From An Unknown Goon?


A Detailed History of All of His Crimes, Cases, and the Sentences He Got

Back in 2001, Vikas Dubey was a gangster and a most wanted criminal. The murder of a BJP leader also includes many of his crimes. The murder of Santosh Shukla brought Dubey a worth, and stature. It was the time when he started receiving political support. In 2002, he tried to kill his rival and Nagar Panchayat Adhyaksha Lallan Bajpai, but he was unsuccessful in this attempt. Consequently, Dubey was linked to the assassination of Dinesh Dubey, a cable operator. Dinesh was apparently killed over an argument of Rs 20,000 only.

Dubey was interviewed by a channel in 2006, where he claimed to be the Pradhan of Bikru village. After enjoying the as Pradhan for over ten years, he became a member of the Zilla Panchayat, while his younger brother was chosen unchallenged to the post of Gram Pradhan of the neighboring Bharti village.

At that time, his brother’s wife was a Zilla Panchayat member, and later his brother became the Pradhan of Bikru Village. Bikru is Dubey’s village near Kanpur. Two years later, he was nominated for the murder of a Dalit youth in the Shivli police station area. Unfortunately, he had been acquitted in both these cases, for just lack of evidence.

In 2002, UP Police filed a charge sheet in Santosh Shukla’s murder case against Dubey, and nominate eight accused, including Dubey and three policemen. According to a police officer, next year in 2003, all the accused were innocent by a local court for want of evidence,” in Allahabad High Court, an appeal was filed in 2005, and the directions have been issued to check the status of that case, Uttar Pradesh DGP H C Awasthi stated.

Dubey was accused to make the conspiracy to murder the retired school principal Siddheshwar Pandey in 2002. In this case, Dubey was named in the charge sheet with four other persons. According to an officer of Shivli police station “A local court in 2004 sentenced life imprisonment to all the accused of the murder case. One of them has been dead, and the others have been released on bail,”
