“Some of TikTok users had app problems around its notifications, and the display of the counts of likes and views, and also trouble loading videos on some pages during the early hours of July 9, 2020. The issues are said to have been due to more traffic than normal on the servers in Virginia, which caused temporary service disruption in the app. We have evaluated the issue and we are also investigating the cause of the problem. We will be updating users as soon as it is available”, a spokesperson was quoted as he issued some comments on the issues TikTok users experienced on July 9, 2020.
What was the problem?
The problem was obvious and self-experienced by some of TikTok users, who experienced some issues around likes and view portion of the application. Some users posted on their social media accounts saying that they see zero views on their videos and posts with thousands of views. After the company came to know that there are some issues showing up in the application, the company commented as soon as possible, that they were working on a fix, and users will have their accounts back in previous conditions and experience.

Secretary of state Mike Pompeo, while talking to Fox News said that the Trump administration may ban TikTok application in the United States, as a concern of security risk linked with the application. The popular application is under federal investigation, and the US government is reportedly launching a national security review of the company’s data collection and censorship practices. United States government considers that user’s personal data, on the application, could be accessible to foreign governments.
