Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said at a press conference on Thursday that the government is committed to the welfare of workers.
Finance Minister said that the government is ready to give the right to minimum wages to all workers. Similarly, there is a plan to eliminate regional disparity in minimum wages.
Announcing the second installment of the government’s package of 20 lakh crore, Sitharaman made several announcements for migrant laborers on Thursday.
She said that inter-state migrant workers will be defined so that they can get better incentives. Not only this, migrant workers will be able to use their ration card in any part of the country under One Nation, One Card facility.
Nirmala Sitharaman said that the benefits of ESIC are also being considered.
