Canadian actress Shirley Douglas, mother of Kiefer Sutherland, has died at the age of 86.
Shirley Douglas received the Gemini Award in 1999 for her TV show Shadow Lake. His death was reported by his son Kiefer Sutherland via a Twitter post.

In a tribute to his mother, he wrote on Twitter that “Early this morning my mother, Shirley Douglas, passed away due to complications surrounding pneumonia (not related to COVID19).”
He further wrote that “My mother was an extraordinary woman who led an extraordinary life. Sadly she had been battling for her health for quite some time and we, as a family, knew this day was coming.”
