In the fourth phase of the lockdown, only special trains, parcels, freight trains will be run


Indian Railways on Sunday said that during the fourth phase of Lockdown, only Shramik Special Train, other special trains, parcel services and Goods Trains will be operational. The government has extended the lockdown till May 31 in the fourth phase.

Indian Railways has stopped operation of all its regular passenger trains till 30 June. Railways said that the guidelines issued during the third phase of lockdown regarding Rail Operations will remain in force as before. The third bard was announced till Sunday 17 May.

Parcel services and freight trains continued to operate in all phases of the lockdown issued from 25 March in the country. At the same time, the Railways started running Shramik Special Trains from May 1 to take the migrant laborers to their home state.

Indian Railways spokesperson RD Vajpayee said, “There has been no change in the rail operations. It will remain as per the third phase of lockdown. Workers’ specials and 15 pairs of other special trains will continue to run. At the same time, parcel service and Goods Trains will also be operational. “
