Curfew was imposed in 40 cities of the United States on Sunday in response to violent protests against the death of black man George Floyd in the US in police custody.
According to news agency ANI 5,000 National Guard members have become active and another 2000 may be deployed if needed.

In many places, these demonstrations have turned violent. The protest outside the White House also turned violent, after which police had to fire tear gas shells.

The IANS was quoted by the news agency Xinhua as saying that Houston police tweeted on Sunday morning that more than 100 people were arrested for various crimes.
