The Chief Secretary of West Bengal has written a letter to the Chairman of the Railway Board on Saturday.
In this, he says that the district administration is currently busy in relief and rehabilitation work due to cyclone Amfan, so it will not be possible for them to receive special trains for the next few days. It is therefore requested that no trains be sent to the state by 26 May.

Earlier this month, West Bengal and the central government came face-to-face over the operation of trains. On May 9, Home Minister Amit Shah wrote a letter to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. In the letter, Shah had said that the West Bengal government was not allowing trains carrying migrant laborers to reach the state, which could cause further problems for the workers.
