Despite the announcement by the central government to resume domestic flights from May 25, the Maharashtra government said on Saturday that the state government has not amended its lockdown order issued on May 19. Air travel is not allowed in this order yet. Therefore only certain types of flights will be allowed in the state.
According to an order issued by the Maharashtra government on May 19, the corona virus lockdown has been implemented in the state till May 31, so all domestic and international except domestic medical services, domestic air ambulances and flights permitted by the Union Home Ministry for security purposes Passenger flights will be suspended till 31 May.
Earlier in the day, Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri had said in a Facebook Live session on Saturday that India would launch a good number of international flights before August.
