Based on the responses received from the state governments, the Center has not finalized the DOS and lockdown 4.0, which will start from May 18 and reportedly continue till the end of this month.
According to reports, some state governments supported more leeway in lockdown restrictions to increase economic activity in non-control coronovirus areas, while the center is easing some strict restrictions in the fourth phase of the shutdown on Monday.
The demand varies depending on the state. But the general consensus is that no state wants a complete ban. Many states and union territories (UTs) want the decision-making powers over zoning of 733 districts to be green, orange and red as per COVID-19 status.
An official said that Lockdown 4.0 would have to reopen the Green Zone with a lot of comfort and flexibility, very limited streams in the Orange Zone and strict restrictions only in the control zones of the Red Zone.
Delhi: Opening of markets, shopping complexes and operation of buses and metro services with strict social distancing norms.
Assam: Extension of the lockdown by two more weeks.
Maharashtra: The state wants a strict lockdown in Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), Pune, Solapur, Aurangabad and Malegaon to continue till May 31 and a complete ban on any inter-state and inter-district transport.
