The Ramayana was telecast on Doordarshan in view of the public demand due to the lockdown implemented due to Corona virus.
Now a new thing has emerged regarding the Ramayana serial. That Arvind Trivedi was not the first choice for Ravana’s character.
Amrish Puri was being liked for this. Amrish Puri was going to play the role of Ravana in Ramanand Sagar’s ‘Ramayana’.
Arvind Trivedi made it clear that Amrish Puri had also auditioned for the role of Ravana and was liked by other cast members along with Arun Govil.
When Arvind Trivedi came to know that Ramanand Sagar was auditioning for ‘Ramayana’ he came to Mumbai from Gujarat. He was expected to play the character of Kevat.
After this Sagar asked him to read the script. When Arvind Trivedi read the script, Ramanand Sagar said that he has got the character of ‘Ravana’ in Arvind.
