Preparations are underway to re-run the Delhi Metro which has come to a standstill due to the Corona lockdown. Arvind Kejriwal government has made it clear that the decision to run the Delhi Metro will be taken by the central government.
Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot told today that during the lockdown, we saw every single train running on every metro track and route, so that the system would run.
However, the minister of Kailash Gehlot informed that thermal screening will be done at every station. The use of notes will not be encouraged.
The Delhi government has received a suggestion to run metro and limited number of buses during lock down. According to the Delhi government, during this time they have also received many suggestions regarding the opening of the Delhi market.
Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain said, “After considering the suggestions received from the people of Delhi regarding the necessary relaxation given in Lockdown 4.0, the Delhi Government has sent a proposal to the Central Government.”
